Graduating top of his class, from Queen Margaret University in Edinburgh, Matthew has been practicing in Bermuda for a decade.
 

During his time in Scotland Matthew worked in several hospital and clinic settings, working with high-risk diabetic patients and wound care facilities establishing and co-authoring reginal care strategies to improve patient treatments and outcomes.

As part of his commitment to continuing his professional development and increasing his knowledge and skills base, Matthew is currently undertaking a Masters course in Wound Healing and Tissue Repair at Cardiff University's faculty of medicine.
The Masters program builds upon Matthews extensive knowledge and experience in wound care management,  in particular the course is helping to develop his knowledge and skills in relation to the application of evidence-based medicine and the potential enhancement of services and governance frameworks. With the goal being to help further enhance the wound care facilities and standards of treatments that are available to patients in Bermuda.

Matthew has been married to his wife Sophie for 10 years, and in January of 2023 they welcomed their first child (and 14th generation Bermudian!) Orla into the world.

Outside of Podiatry, Matthew is Bermuda's most highly awarded bartender and co-owner of The Blind Pig Cocktail Co.
